Curriculum

Middle Years

The middle years (11 to 15 years) are formative years in which a wide range of experiences are provided to assist students with gaining knowledge and understanding of the real world. This foundation of learning becomes a tool for future success as adults.

All programs in the Middle Years are grounded in the Australian Curriculum.

Programs for middle year’s students include:

  • Functional academics
  • Daily living skills
  • Community access
  • Leisure & recreation, and
  • Work experience

Senior Years

The senior years program focuses on ensuring students are supported to choose the best pathway to ensure their independence and wellbeing.

Students in the senior years can choose a number of pathways, ranging from preparation for the world of work through to study to achieve a Modified NTCET, or preparation for entry into Community Pathways beyond school.

Programs for senior year subjects include:

  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses
  • Modified Subjects NTCET, and / or work experience whilst maintaining and developing life skills
  • Functional academics
  • Physical activity
  • Community access
